Reduction of tron gas costs reduces daily income by 64% in 10 days

The recent reduction in Tron costs has considerably reduced the income earned by its block producers, according to a new cryptotic report.

The total daily network fees for producers of tron blocks, known as super representatives, fell to $ 5 million on September 7, the lowest level in more than a year. This represents a drop in income of 64% in 10 days, against $ 13.9 million the day before the implementation of lower costs.

Onchain’s data show that average gas costs have decreased by 60% after the network has implemented a proposal reducing the price of the energy unit from 210 sun to 100 sun. Gas costs are transaction costs paid on the Tron network, measured in its smallest unit, called Sun.

The Proposal Tron # 789, labeled “decrease transaction costs”, was posted online on August 29 after a vote of the super representative community.

The member of the Grothendi community published the proposal in August, arguing that lower transaction costs “would ensure the sustainable and healthy development of the Tron ecosystem”.

Grothendi estimated that the reduction of gas costs to 100 sounds of 210 SUN could lead to 12 million additional users’ potential transfers. A tron (TRX) is equivalent to 1 million sun, the lowest divisible part of TRX.
