NVIDIA reports Zero H20 Sales to China
Nvidia responded to concerns about its Chinese activities in its latest report on results, saying that sales of its H20 processor had not reached the country. “There were no H20 sales to Chinese customers in the second quarter,” said the company.
The H20 processor is a lower version of the NVIDIA H100 chip designed for the Chinese market in accordance with existing American regulations concerning the export of high -performance computer fleas used in AI applications.
In January, the administration of US President Donald Trump announced that it sought to strengthen export controls on sales of Nvidia H20 in China due to the concerns of “national security”.
The Trump administration followed and imposed strict export controls, which included export licenses and costs totaling around 5.5 billion dollars, which stopped H20 fleas to China.
However, the administration reversed its position in August, allowing the sales of H20 fleas to China to resume on condition that Nvidia gives the US government 15% of the income from chips sold to China.
