Metaversse shows signs of life with NFT sales up 27%

Sales of non -budgetary tokens linked to the metavers have increased by 27% in August compared to the previous month, suggesting that people could “slowly sneak into virtual worlds”, according to a Dappradar analyst.

There were 6.5 million dollars in metavese trading volume in August, slightly down compared to July but coming from 13,927 sales, representing an increase of 27% compared to last month, according to the report published Thursday.

“It is the 2nd month of regular activity, suggesting that users can turn it over slowly in virtual worlds such as sandbox, mocciverse, other and decentraland,” he wrote on X.

The metavese peak hype in 2021 and 2022, driven by speculation and excitement as to what technology could achieve, slowing down in 2023 and beyond after its initial shine of popularity.

People “sneaned” in the metavese

In July, Dappradar recorded sales of $ 6.7 million and a commercial volume of 10,900 metavour, a significant leap of only $ 3.7 million in sales and 12,800 in volume in June.

Dappradar’s analyst Sara Gherghelas said that the August figures show that “Metaverse is not yet dead” and that people seem to “withdraw into virtual worlds”.
